| I've
always known that creating art was a primal calling for me. In 2001, after
forty years as an engineer and several lay-offs, I began serious art study.
I earned a AAA degree in animation however, most of my artistic development
has been the result of self-directed study of art books, magazines, websites
and various workshops
My art is narrative in its style. I concentrate on evoking rather than telling a story. I create images, moods, action, and compositions that inspire curiosity and have personal resonance and humor. For these reasons, I stick to very recognizable subjects while attempting to introduce a slight shift of perception that will tease my viewer away from seeing just "another nice picture". I show with the Young at 'Art group, and my work has been juried into shows in Texas and New Mexico. I will be represented by a new gallery, Artwerx, opening soon near downtown Dallas. I have also melded a pragmatic side to my art career as I celebrate the joy of people and their pets by painting their portraits on a commission basis. Contact: |
